Tasting notes: The wine exhibits a classic Yarra Valley Chardonnay fruit profile of white nectarine and melon and has a fruit intensity that is beautifully balanced by elegant acidity aiding in structure. Texture also plays a part in knitting together all elements to give great persistence and length on the palate.
Winemaker notes: Harvested on 23 February 2015, the 2015 Zonzo Estate Chardonnay was sourced exclusively from estate grown fruit. Pressed to tank and chilled overnight following racking to barrel the next day to complete 100% barrel fermentation in a mix of new and old oak. The wine was kept on full lees for elevage prior to racking early December 2015.
Tasting notes: A wine of broody depth, intensity and detail. The savoury tannins are entwined with Pinot Noir fruit characters of raspberries and cherries and beautifully balanced oak.
Winemaker notes:Harvested from the estate on the 28 February 2015. 70% crushed with the balance fermented as whole berries. Fermentation was completed after fifteen days at which point it was pressed to barrel and kept on full lees until December 2015.
Tasting notes: Bright cassis and berry fruits with background notes of tobacco leaf and spice. Fine-grained tannins build on the fruit profile to create depth and detail and are integral to the elegance and strength of this wine. Bottled on 18 April 2016.
Winemaker notes:Harvested on the 1 April 2015 crushed to fermenter. Primary fermentation was completed after 14 days. Pressed after 21 days.
Tasting notes: The Zonzo Estate Shiraz shows the attributes of cool climate Shiraz well. Rich yet elegant with fine persistent tannin, plump fruit of red berries and licorice. A perfect harmony of brightness and density.
Winemaker notes: Harvested on the 17 March 2015, crushed to fermenter with 5% whole bunch included in ferment. Primary fermentation was completed after 13 days but pressed after 18 days. Filled to oak and kept on full lees until rack and return to oak in December 2015.
